Water Polo Tournament Schedule

The water polo season ends with a series of double-elimination tournaments for each age group. The top eight teams from each age group qualify. In age groups with more than eight teams, usually all teams in the top division qualify, along with the top teams in the second division. (See what an 8-team bracket looks like.)

Because tournament play is in double-elimination format, only the first game for each team can be scheduled; the times and opponents for subsequent games depend on the outcomes of earlier games. The first game at each tournament venue is usually at 8:00am.

There are 12 games played each day (except for the Senior girls); at the end of the day there will be one team remaining with no losses; this team goes to the finals. There will be two teams remaining with one loss each; these teams play each other in a semi-final game on Saturday with the winners going to the finals.
