Location and Hours: Mercerwood Shore Club is located at 4150 E. Mercer Way, on the northeast side of Mercer Island, just south of the I-90 East Mercer Way exit. The property incorporates a beautiful waterfront.
History and Management: Mercerwood Shore Club, founded in 1953, is family-oriented and member-owned and operated, and offers activities for all ages.
Amenities: A year-round facility, Mercerwood Shore Club incorporates a club house with recently renovated locker rooms, a newly re-outfitted fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio and weight-training equipment, a carpeted meeting/party area, a kitchen and a lounge with a color TV.
Waterfront Recreation: Mercerwood boasts 500 feet of Lake Washington frontage.
Boating: At the club's waterfront, 37 boat slips are available, as well as a boat launch and lakeside storage for small craft.
Beach: The beach is sandy and shallow for youngsters; older children enjoy swimming out to a wooden raft/platform.
Picnic area: The grassy lakefront area has a dozen picnic tables for get-togethers with family and friends, and a large pit for campfires and s'mores.
Barbecue: Several charcoal barbecue pits are available for member use.
Big toy: In 2005, a new play structure with slides, climbing areas and more was added for the enjoyment of younger children.
Basketball: A concrete basketball court lures players of all ages.
Volleyball: Members may set up a volleyball net for games on the lakeside lawn.
Fitness Equipment and Classes: The club's year-round fitness facility includes newly-acquired state-of-the-art cardio and weight-lifting equipment. Fitness classes such as yoga, cardio, aerobics and weight training are offered at various times throughout the week. (For after-hours use, please complete the After-hours Agreement and turn it in to the office.)
Tennis Activities and Junior Tennis Team Four outdoor courts are available at no charge to members, year round. During the summer, MSC offers tennis classes, youth team play, ladies' day, mixed doubles nights and more.
Classes: Tennis classes are offered throughout the summer to all ages.
Team: Youth tennis team play takes place on Fridays during the summer.
Swimming Pool and Activities: MSC boasts a 25-meter outdoor pool. From September through April, the pool is covered by a state-of-the-art bubble to permit year-round use.
Classes: Swim classes are available to youth year-round.
Swim Team: The MSC Manta Rays swim team, open to youth of all abilities, ages 5 and up, meets daily and competes weekly during summer months in the Midlakes League. The team won the Midlakes Championship in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Dive Team: MSC's dive team is available to youth ages 5 and up, from beginners to advanced divers. The team meets daily and competes weekly in summer months in the Midlakes League. Private dive lessons are available during the summer.
Water Polo: The water polo team at MSC meets daily and competes in Midlakes League meets from late July to mid August. The team won the Midlakes Championship in three age divisions in 2004, and 2005, four in 2006, and two in 2007.
